Santa Cruz Mountains
After weeks of winter rains, plum blossoms burst into being. Thus begins a new annual cycle.
Amongst the bare branches, new blossoms flourish. Soon leaves will follow.
They blossom under wintery skies and despite cold February temperatures.
The promise of summer fruit is held in the tiny wet flowers.
The first of many blossoms opens fully, attracting bees and other pollinating insects.
lovely!
